Senator Josh Penry (R- Garfield, Mesa) is a legislative rising star rumored as a potential Senate minority leader next session.  He helped push through an overhaul of how the state invests its burgeoning mineral leasing revenue.
Senator Penry helped negotiate a compromise last year between the energy industry, conservationists and the governor's office on how to expand and reconstitute the Colorado Oil and Gas Conservation Commission.  He is a leader in the 2008 ballot initiative regarding severance tax.

Dr. Robert Zubrin is president of Pioneer Astronautics and also president of the Mars Society. For many years he worked as a senior engineer for Lockheed Martin. He is the author of the critically acclaimed nonfiction books and science fiction novels and numerous articles. Dr. Zubrin earned a B.A. in mathematics at the University of Rochester, an M.A. in nuclear engineering and an M.A. in aeronautics and astronomy, and a Ph.D. in nuclear engineering, all from the University of Washington.

In his book, Energy Victory, Dr. Zubrin shows how we could be using fuel dollars that are now being sent to countries with ties to terrorism to help farmers here and abroad, boosting our own economy and funding world development. Furthermore, by switching to alcohol fuels, which pollute less than gasoline and are made from plants that draw carbon dioxide from the air, this plan will facilitate the worldwide economic growth required to eliminate global poverty without the fear of greenhouse warming.

Duane Zavadil is vice president for government and regulatory affairs for Bill Barrett Corporation, NYSE: BBG, a Rocky Mountain-region oil and gas company operating in Colorado, Wyoming and Utah. Mr. Zavadil was a consultant providing environmental and regulatory services to the oil and gas industry from 1984 through 1994.
